Allegheny Casualty Company Expands Leadership Team with the Hiring of Surety Executive John P. Hyland

Industry veteran brings more than 30 years of surety leadership experience to ACC

Newark, NJ – January 1, 2026

Allegheny Casualty Company (ACC), one of the nation’s fastest growing contract and commercial surety companies, announced a key expansion of its leadership team with the hiring of long-time surety executive, John P. Hyland. This strategic addition underscores ACC’s commitment to innovation and responsible growth as the organization continues to expand its creative approach to surety amongst some of the nation’s largest companies.

John has over 30 years of experience in the surety industry as a field underwriter, underwriting officer, and surety broker in various leadership positions. John comes to ACC from NFP, where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of NFP’s Construction & Infrastructure unit. Prior to NFP, he was a Partner/Owner of The Hyde Agency, where he specialized in Construction Surety and Insurance. He has also served as President of Allied North America of New Jersey and prior to that he served as President of The Hartford’s Surety division, and in various branch and home roles at Seaboard Surety Company.

John has a B.Sc. Business Administration degree from Manhattan College. He has also served as a board member of the New York City Chapter of the Construction Financial Managers Association and has been actively involved in industry organizations including Associated General Contractors, Utility Transportation & Contractors Association, New York Building Congress, Construction Industry Counsel of Westchester, the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, and the Fidelity and Surety Association of America.
